Burns a hole in your head
Andrew Hawkins | DC | 04/30/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"if you like that kind of painful rock n' roll, than by all means. i warned you. you heard me warn them, didn't you? the apes will crawl into your ear and melt your brain. these aren't cute, sign-language performing apes. these are the kind that'll gang up on you and tear you limb from limb. sabbath, zepplin, and a little trail of dead with some cool organ and screaming-melodic vocals. go see them preform and your liable to get assaulted by the singer."
Dawn of The Apes
George a Pletz | Central PA, USA | 10/06/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Clearly behind the curve of the ever fickle world of indie rock,
The Apes sound as if the late lamented Steel Pole Bathtub was reincarnated as The Melvins. Is that too inside for you? How about a Black Sabbath zombie gnawing on the decomposing corpse of Deep Purple? How about a warped inverse of early Blues Explosion where everyone played organs and percussion and never picked up a guitar(not that you'll miss it)? On Fugue in The Fog, The Apes create the rarest form of experimental rock. It actually rocks and is fun! While the album can get abit long, you can't deny the unique and swinging style of The Apes. This is the most psychotronic punk iteration of goth rock you will find. Marilyn Manson wishes he was this clever and amusing! So if you taste in rock runs to the furthest reaches of rock and you have a humourous streak that runs towards the pitch black, The Apes are your missing link!"
An album which contains the hardest rocking song ever!

"Get this album for black tears, one of the hardest rocking songs I have ever heard. My cousin from Cali brought this album home one time, and I fell in love with black tears. Download it or something, this song rules. What up Bec"
