One for the Ages

"Introducing -- Anthony Evans! What has Dallas, Texas been putting in the water? I was blindsided by this ridiculous album, the debut of a 25-year-old wonder who should be well known by the music industry in due time.Imagine Brian McKnight in the same room with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Fred Hammond.. then imagine Anthony Evans. Yes, he's that good. The production team that was put together for this project should be mentioned as well. The instrumentation is absolutely perfect -- mixing live guitars with sweet piano melodies and smooth percussion, and the BGV's are simply awesome. There are a number of outstanding songs on this set. There is no beating around the bush here, this album is consistently pure and at times breathtaking. If you want inspiration and encouragement -- you'll get it. If you want incredible music and great vocals -- you'll get it. It's the full package -- no strings attached. "Just Like You" might be the most memorable track, featuring a brilliant guitar line and a irresistable melody. "Come Home" speaks of Anthony's journey back to Jesus. A luscious piano grabs you from the start, with creatively pieced percussion pulling you in and out of an emotional message. Another very terrific joint is the urban soaked track "The One", telling of Jesus' sacrifice, and why he should be the most important thing in our lives.Don't sleep on this album! It's one of the best purchases I've made in a long, long time. If you like Brian McKnight, Fred Hammond, Babyface, Boyz II Men, The Winans, Cece, or just good music in general, buy this.. you'll be thankful you did."
Excellent !

"Must say that this is the best Gospel album I've heard in a while. Anthony Evans is a breath of fresh air. The gospel genre will be all the better if it drew a leaf out of this book. It took only 10 secs of my hearing this to decide I'll buy it.

Most significant is the lyrics to this, very inspirational !!. I dont know what this brother went into the studio to do, but whatever the intention, he stepped out with a package of experience. From first to last track, this album speaks to the soul and spurs deep reflections.

Dont even sleep, buy this album and be inspired. If I knew Anthony, I'd tell him not to rest on his laurels (whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might), the sad reason why the gospel genre is kind of shallow (don't be offended, this is just my personal opinion)is that a lot of artists get too complacent after a good debut.

I can tell this guy's got a lot more in his locker. I pray he does even better next time around, we'll all be the better for it."
Great! Great! Anointed! Album

"Well, it is hard to believe this is Anthony's first album. This cd sounds like it was done by a veteran in Gospel Music, like Fred Hammond. The Lyrics are superb. Songs like Restore me and Just like You speak directly to me. These songs are definitely what young and even older converts need to be listening to in times like these when almost everyone is falling away. Excellent music selection as well!! You don't need a rapper to get a clear message to the youth."
