Born Owen Silvera in Kingston, Jamaica, he left at an early age and grew up in New York & Massachusetts. Early influences came from Reggae, RnB & Jazz and from singers including: Derrick Harriot, Ken Boothe, Ken & Dave Parker. Ambelique has worked with all the top producers & artists, such as Clive Hunt, Blackbeard, Tappa Zukie, Beenie Man, Flourgan, Jet Star & more. In 1994 he returned to Jamaica and was introduced to Sly & Robbie, who gave him his long awaited entry into the mainstream with his version of Brian McKnight's One Last Cry & R Kelly's For You, both rocketing to the top of the New York Reggae charts in 1996.
