CD Reviews

Mystry tracks FINALLY revieled!
Brian Larson | 12/07/1999
(2 out of 5 stars)

"Diehard Alice fans have noticed that "goin' to the river" and "just like a woman" aren't Alice. They're Ronnie Hawkins! Hawkins, an Elvis contempory, was also at the Toronto 69 gig. How they ended up on this semi-bootleg of Alice no one knows. (But they're actually better than Alice's songs here!)"
Original Alice Cooper

(3 out of 5 stars)

"This is one wierd, way out album that I originally bought on vinyl and wore it out. If you want to listen to the original Alice Cooper and I mean when the group was called Alice Cooper and the lead singer was Vincent Fernier, then this is the album for you. The songs are from the time that the band started on the circuit and were begining to build the reputation of the band as being the worst band on the ciruit. Thankfully though this is no longer the case. When Alice sings the songs, ' Aint it just like a woman' and 'Jump overboard', he sounds a little like he's trying to impersonate Elvis. This is weird. Most of the other songs are seriously psychodelic of the 1960's."
Not Freak Out Again!!!

"If you want my thought on this then read my review of Freak Out. This is one of the several different titles for the same album. It is not listed in Alice Cooper's offical album list. This was recordrd in Toronto '69 and on Ain't That Just Like A Woman and Goin To The Rover, that is not even Alice!!!! That is an unknown band that played the same night!!! I love Alice Cooper to death but even the original group and the Master himself would admit this is junk and you can find this almost anywhere."
