A true star...

"Not only is he a gifted live performer, he also has one of the most delicious voices this side of the Atlantic. He consistently offers songs that are not only rich in rythm and melody, he also delivers the lyrics in a smooth, sensual voice that really does make you want to... well, you know, get romantic.

His collaborations with Alejandro Sanz, and Rosario bring forth his intention to further make room for himself and his music in the latin market. I particularly admire the fact that he does not just foresake his portuguese in his recordings, he records in both languages, making him even more valuable. (If interested, look for this recording in the portuguese version).

I particularly like "Amame" which I've seen him perform live, and it brought the house down. I am also partial to "Inseguridad" in which he duets with Rosario. As in his previous duet with Gloria Estefan (when he was with So Pra Contrariar), it is a synergistic collaboration, in which the female voice does not feel the need to compete with the male voice; they play off each other.

Each song is delivered with that off-hand cool that you become accustomed to with Pires. But this does not by any means, signify that he is becoming complacent with his own talent. It means that he can communicate his "desperation" without needing to sound like a potential psychopath.

I recommend this album to people who are interested in latin music, or if you are trying to woo a special someone, this is good background music for an evening in. Mind you, background, because some of the lyrics deal with lost love, and might not be so appropriate in the setting of budding romance."
Fantastic sounds.

"I've been waiting a while for this album and just received it today. It was worth the wait.
Beautiful sounds, and voice. Excellent stuff.
Production of a few of the songs slightly sub standard but majority of them a spot on.
Highly recommend to the poeple that love great tunes, great voices and great feeling music."
