"Mamalah is kvetching. I was struck by the cover (a very Judy Garland pose) and I love my goil singers. I was also taken by some of the reviews calling Billings a great belter. Needless to say the Cd will disapoint.

First off, the sound quality is atrocious. Where is this theater at Carlsbad Caverns? I know live cds will never have the sound quality of a studio recording, but this was absolutely, positively the worst sounding CD these ears have ever heard.

Secondly, I didnt think she was all she was built up to be. Judy, Ethel, Barbra, Eder, Bette, Liza needn't worry. Maybe I dont get it. I did read that someone said she is a novelty act like Jim Baily - if that's the case Alexandra was pretty good. She wasn't vocally mimicking the female singers whose songs she covers. But some songs were a little over the top as if she were Judy (or wanting to be Judy. But there is only one Judy. I almost had the feeling between the cover and how the concert was built up in the liner notes that the producer was trying to equate this to Judy at Carnegie Hall. Hardly the case.

Maybe she is one of those performers you need to experience live (not live CD recording - but in person)."

"Absolutely stunning. A winner on all fronts. Not to be missed. Every breath, every inflection, every inch a dynamic production. Just gorgeous!"
