"As most of you probably do know,Alan Davey was the third-longest serving member of Hawkwind.During his first stay,1984-96 he was very often a vital force in the band.I've touched base with him via snail mail awhile back and he'd indicated to me that he would still play on certain tour dates with the band.As for 'Bedouin',the disc is the bassist's second solo effort.Many have compared his band,who on 'Bedouin' is guitarist Sean Masset and drummer Danny Thompson,Jr. to a more melodic,yet STILL heavy Motorhead.'Bedouin' is mostly instrumental and the tracks that stand on their own are "Rock Palace",the outstanding eleven-minute rocker "Wadi Dhar","Space Rock Cafe" and the bonus cut from 1987 "Sand Devil".'Bedouin' is most worthy of repeated plays.If you like this CD,you might want to check out some of Davey's other work,'As Above So Below' and 'Chaos Delight'.Purchase these titles online,as they might be tough to find in record stores."
