Synopsis

Product Description
Standing on a Beach, the first singles compilation from Britain's premiere love cats, was the capper on a period of startling, evolving growth for Robert Smith & Co. This rather less interesting 18-song companion piece documents a peak commercial run that ended abruptly with last year's Wild Mood Swings disc. The one new studio track here, "Wrong Number," is a buzzing, synth-suffused delight that hooks deep after three spins. It's the cherry on a cake built from latter-day gems like "Lovesong," "Just Like Heaven," and "Friday I'm in Love." --Jeff Bateman

Has a well deserved Parental Advisory for explicit lyrics. Quite funny.

Liked some of it, and some of it sounds like it was more fun to record than it is to hear.

HIS BEST HANDS DOWN
Adam | 02/25/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"All across the board the songs are classics, the goat, ode to my car, mr bako, dip doodle, respect and the chanukah song. You name it, he did it. The only not-up-to-par spots are some of the excited southerner bits, and the one-joke hypnotist. Still, this is his best, if you like adam sandler but dont know which cd of his, pick this one! DO NOT PICK Stan and Judy's Kid, it is not quite up to his standards. The other two are solid also. Buy it. Im done."
Even funnier than They're All Gonna Laugh At You

"The Goat is one of the funniest skits I have ever heard and no matter how many times I hear it, it leaves me in tears of laughter. Also of note on the Album: "Mr. Bake-O" "Steve Polycronopolous" "What the Hell Happened To Me""
