DACHMAN SHINES AT THE KEYBOARD OF LIFE
JOEL D. GERSHBEIN | Vernon Hills, IL | 01/18/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Despite the fact that I have known the artist for over 15 years, this is an UNBIASED review. Adam knows that I am his second-toughest critic after himself! I have been through all the tracks on "ECHOES IN THE CANYON" many times and am privy to much of the artist's creative process and the stories behind the songs. What the listener must key into is the fact that Adam is--first and foremost--a Man of Medicine. There is a healing quality to his music, not unlike the physical healing that he brings to his patients. His music is at once delicate and powerful, always unencumbered. "ECHOES" also demonsrates the versatility of style of which Adam is capable. From the first listening one gleans that this is not only art but, also, communication. There is great sensitivity coming forth and the piano is both the instrument and conduit. Finally, there is an almost improvisational quality to Adam's music belying his structured songwriting and scholarly approach to the keyboard. Adam's skill as a surgeon makes for too easy a metaphor (does the man really "operate" at the piano?). Suffice to say, he is well-schooled in the ways of the hand and the incision won't leave a scar."
