CD Reviews

The real METAL
Ramiro Vega | Orlando, Florida United States | 09/06/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Do you like Slipknot, Pantera, Machine Head, Soulfly, Slayer??? Ok, then keep reading, this definetly is for you..Living in the US have tought me that when they talk about "Latin Metal" , they usually bring bands like Puya or Molotov or cafe tacuba (??) or any other "latin ...whatever" who doesnt really represent M E T A L the way SlipKnot or Pantera, or any other metal band really REALLY represents. This album is a true representation of METAL, its a true evolution of their own sound in the past albums, and its a true evolution on how loud, how distorted vocals, guitars and bass should sound, a true representation on how to obtain a lo-thick-electric sound. If you dont like metal and you dont dig for it in record stores, you will probably never know such a band exists, but after making my american friends listen to this band, as well as other Argentine bands, they were totally blown away and asking themselves how was it that they never heard of A.N.I.M.A.L. and why is it that such a good band doesnt get a space in US music industry!!?So , you!! Stop reading this review and dont doubt more, you will be blown away and very amazed but at the time surprised that such a good band exists in the other half of the world and how was it that you have never heard of them!!??Expect to see them touring every year in the Warped Tour and probably on the upcoming Ozzfests and Watcha Tours.-- thank you A.N.I.M.A.L. , true Latin American metal from the roots of Sepultura, thanks you every damn time you guys put out a record, it keeps geting better and better.--New drummer, Marcelo Castro really tears his drumkit down like Paul Boostaph from slayer or Joey Jordison from the 'Knot. this guy its a damn beast playing as well as new bass player "titi" Lapolla really seem to know his instrument and enjoy playing it and destroying choruses and second vocals. And AMAZING record, even with 2 soft-core but deep and well done songs this album covers any metal expectation from track to track. a must buy if like METAL with the new sound of today's rage."
