Album Description

Premiere recording of Paul Patterson's Cello Concerto, written for Raphael Wallfisch in 2002. The repertoire surrounding the Patterson was chosen to demonstrate the variety and richness of 20th century works for cello and string orchestra that lurk just outside the mainstream. Wallfisch is one of the UK's most recorded cellists, and his list of works by British composers alone includes 21 concertos.
