Hot plaintive blues
Tom Beattie | Edinburgh | 01/10/2002

"Walking into the record store I heard the haunting harmonica on "Save my child" and was hooked. I had to have it! I got the only copy in the shop and got home asap. The mixture of beautiful harmonica pieces, gutsy blues and cracking vocals make this a fantastic album. I've never seen the film but would love to see how the music fits the screen action. "What I have tried to explain for years I've been able to express through this score". So says the Blues master and composer of this mini masterpiece in his sleeve notes and he is so right."
Masterful Soundtrack

"I've been a fan of Willie Dixon for over thirty years, so I'm real familiar with his work. This soundtrack really caught the true presence of Willie, However it was cleaner, more modern, to fit the movie no doubt. With only a few musicians who played several instruments, they caught the old and really laid down some beautiful tracks. Special attention should be given to the multi-talented Stanley Behrens on Harmonica, Sax and Flute, who is now with "CANNED HEAT" AWESOME!

"This is a great album, try to find a copy you won't be sorry, every song is excellent. The guitar, vocal and harp will blow you away, this is a very clean recording. I have a few of his cd's this is my second favorite, my first is (I Am The Blues) this is excellent also. This also is a long player another plus."
