"This recording is the one to sleep by. Brahms and Beethoven are hard to beat, but this waterfall recording taped by Dr. Toby Mountain is my most often played CD. I used to live by a busy corner with lots of traffic noise. This CD helped drown out the dissonance of the city. Now I live with two babies, and the waterfall's lullaby is still washing away the stress. Unlike many environmental CDs, this one has no obnoxious editing or mixing, and no schmaltzy musaque added. The sounds are like the ones you would really hear if you were camping in the forest."

Good white noise CD

"I live in a noisy neighborhood. There are too many people doing too many things late at night.

This CD works pretty well for blotting out the neighbors. It's not just the hiss of a waterfall -- they must have had the microphone close to the water, as you can hear lots of other watery sounds.

There's an occasional bird, which tends to wake our baby up a bit.

Also, the sound starts and stops pretty abruptly, which often wakes me up momentarily when I have it on repeat.

My favorite white noise is the rain CD in the Week in Hawaii series."
