CD Reviews

Absolutely brilliant!

"This was given to me as a Christmas present a number a year ago, and it remains one of my all time favs. I just found Lifescapes has their on website and you can still order this (the original Scottish Moor is no longer available, but you can order it in a two CD set Scottish Moors and Emerald Isle). I just bought several to give to my friends.

Jeff Victor used magic to create this beautiful collection of songs. It has bagpipes, haunting non-intrusive vocals, and the sounds of nature as a background to the simply beautiful songs. The Ghost Piper of An Allt Mor is pure bagpipes with the ghostly lilt. The medieval sounding The Mermaid's Tears and then Farewell to the Lasses of Mon Tays. The Widow of Loch Lemond and the Rowan Tree just fill the soul. Tir-nan-Og and 7th Child of 7th Child sets the spirit to fly. The Dance of the Dumfrieshire Dwarves, just makes you want to go out and dance in a circle around a balefire! But it's The Fisherman's Sorrow/The Battle Cry of Killecrankie. Odd name for one of the most evocative, haunting songs that is likely my favourite track of all music I own.

Victor gives you a period feel, a Scottish feel like none other.

If you like Scottish music, a little pipes, songs that are beautiful and relaxing, then you cannot beat this."
Amazing

"Rich in culture, soothing, and downright contemplative in its own right. "Scottish Moors" is a CD that is perfect for playing in the baby's room on a bright morning, the living room on a rainy afternoon, the bedroom a relaxing night, or while on a mid-day adventure. Put it on your IPOD or other mp3 device for an exploration into the past wherever you may travel...enjoy!"
