The rap continues-with edits...

"This third volume in an almost awesome series still doesn't bring us ALL the 12" versions of classic 80s rap tracks. Particularly frustrating to me is the long version of Step Off by the Furious Five. On my vinyl version, there's a break in which Melle Mel does a reprise of his "Chaka Kahn" rap from her hit "I Feel For You." But it's not on this version!!! Track times:

1. the show (6:39)

2. romeo (5:12)

3. step off (7:17)

4. jailhouse rap (8:31)

5. freaks come out at night (4:40)

6. you ain't fresh (7:51)

7. here we go (4:04)

8. leader of the pack (4:55)

9. AJ Scratch (5:48)

10. runaway (4:31)

11. Marley Marl Scratch (4:26)

12. bad boys (5:53)"

"If you can chant that title, then you should own this! This includes Run DMC's rare, classic non-album track HERE WE GO (Live at the Funhouse) which features our heroes rapping live off the soon-to-be famous Roxanne Roxanne beat (this cut was clearly inspired by the Cold Crush Bros. underground hit CC4 VS FANTASTIC FIVE, 1981). Another nonalbum smash at the time is Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh's classic THE SHOW with a slightly different ending than most fans of the time are familiar with (the famous flipside LA DI DA DI appears elsewhere). Other cuts, like BAD BOYS and UTFO's "Leader of the Pack" are just okay, but the above mentioned cuts make it worth the money."

"These are classic throw backs, this is where it all began people! Cuts like A.J. scratch, Marley scratch, and "Leaders of the pack" by U.T.F.O are priceless. I grew up on this music and at 31 I still enjoy it! This is the foundation of hip hop from the top!"
