A thoroughly enjoyable album

"The New Land by Touchstone is a delight for the ears from start to finish. Beginning with the Kilmoulis Jig and the Maid At The Spinning Wheel, the musical abilities of the group are evident, and the vocals on the later cuts are beautiful. I can think of few albums that combine romance, beauty, and joy as successfully as this one. I'd recommend it as a "must have" for any Celtic or folk lover.(As an aside, this is also an excellent album to take with you if you are checking out stereo equipment, especially speakers. The Kilmoulis Jig starts with a mandolin solo that will highlight the speaker clarity and high-end response, then about a minute in, a bass line comes in strong to test those woofers. It's a great piece.)"
