Awesome technical death metal

"This is another awesome death metal masterpiece from Sweden, in the veins of Meshuggah but with a slightly different edge. The music is riddled with mesmerising time signatures, the drum work is fantastic, and the guitar solos will leave you green with envy ! If that's not enough, check out the acoustic guitar solo on the title track itself, Third Eye Function. Even Malmsteen will be impressed. :)The thing I like about this album is how they vary the tempos in their songs. The rhythm structures of the songs are very tight and precise, and you will need a few spins of the CD before you can fully digest the album. I got lost halfway while listening to the album at the beginning, and this shows how crazy and technical these guys can get. My only complain is the vocals, which needs to be stronger. At the time of recording, the band was signed to Pulverised Records, a record company based in Singapore. I think they have resigned to Relapse Records, and have also released a new album. This album is produced by Tomas Skogsberg (of Entombed fame), so get ready for some ultra-scooped technical death metal ..."

"Killer death/thrash from a totally unknown band. Too bad because these guys are far better than the average death metal act. The musicianship is top notch, the arrangements are complex, and the production is excellent. The comparison to Meshuggah is an apt one here, but Theory in Practice are more accessible to the average listener. Well worth the import price, and there can't be that many left so I'd snap it up. Five years from now when people finally realize what a fine album this is, you'll be seeing copies on ebay for three times the price."

"Theory in Practice have been signed under Listenable Records, and NOT Relapse Records as mentioned in my original posting below."
