"Most bands tend to fall into one or two roles, like classical-tinged prog-rock (yay for hyphens), slow ethereal songs that remind you of dreams, falling-in-love songs, falling-out-of-love songs, etc. Every so often, a band transcends all genres to make a record that you just want to keep listening to: albums like "A Night at the Opera" by Queen, "Quadrophenia" by the Who, "Bee Thousand" by Guided by Voices, and now the B-Sides first LP, "Yes, Indeed, the B-sides, Quite!". The songs are excellent. I think any of the songs on this CD would make an terrific single (except maybe "Chimes" :)) but I was impressed the way the songs congeal to form the kind of album that you don't hear very often. Support indie music, and start by buying one of my two favorite CDs of the year so far (if you're curious, the other one is "Isolation Drills" by GBV). You won't be dissapointed."
Doesn't get any better than this!

"The B-Sides are definitely one of the best live shows, ever, so if you get a chance to see them, don't miss it. Even if you can't actually see them, this CD will make you feel good about the world. They're great musicians, and great songwriters. If you can listen to this CD without dancing, you're crazy."
Swell Indeed!

"Swell doesn't even begin to describe these boys from Pittsboro, NC. Their musical complexity combined with some catchy tunes make this a must for every music lover. With this albums vast array of tunes you are guarenteed to fall in love with at least one (if not all fourteen) of the b-sides spectacular songs. You better watch out, cause these guys are going places!"
Weezer meets Jump Little Children

"first caught the b-sides as an opening band who blew away the headliners...they bring the geek rock anthem sounds of weezer and melt them together with the art rock sounds of jump little children to make one of those albums where you actually listen to the whole thing. the sounds range from catchy hooks to horror music type licks, sometimes in the same song. the lyrics are at times young and immature (singing about the high school [girls] or the too good tina who "can have anyone/but can't have me") but that's to be expected: aside from former squirel nut zipper bassist ken moescher, all of the band members still get carded at their own shows! don't let that scare you off though, the songwriting and musicianship display a talent unaffected by youth. you won't be disappointed with this band's first (hopefully of many) album."
Oh WOW

"all I can say, is WOW. Honestly, I really don't know where to go from there, and people who know me know I'm not exactly a woman of few words. To call the b-sides catchy seems almost insulting, given the dense layers of their musical harmonies and lyrics. To call them progressive just seems cliche, since that's what everyone else is saying... all I can say is, you must buy this record. You simply will not understand what all the fuss is about until you buy it and listen to it, atleast 3 times, maybe 5 if you're the slow type. You know they must be good, becuase I've subjected myself to years of junk mail and tracking by the secret government agencies that access all this registration information to bring you this review and URGE you to listen to this band, you won't regret it."
