CD Reviews

Cutt Your Heart Out!!
William Runk | Las Vegas, NV USA | 12/31/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Unfortunately, Rough Cutt was one of the best kept secrets of the 80's metal scene. Their sound was a little different for the times when compared to bands like Priest and Maiden. A bit slower but still heavy. I saw them open for DIO in '86 and they blew me away. Cutt Your Heart Out, Take Her and Piece of My Heart absolutely rock. If only I could find their second album "Rough Cutt Wants You" on CD. This album is a definite must have!"
Vintage Metal

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Rough Cutt powers through with a strong showing of metal which also hints at a blues influence. Produced by Tom Allom (Judas Priest fame), this album has plenty of power chords, gutsy vocals, and drive. Like so many classic albums, the whole album is just flat out solid. It isn't Speed Metal, but who needs extreme speed with a well crafted and intelligently written metal set, obviously designned to take on the road. One of my favorites from the 80's."
IT CUTTS!

"I actually have this album on vinyl. I've had it since it first came out and it flat out smokes! (...)Man, for me they don't make 'em like this anymore. Solid musicianship and good production. Considering the state of music nowadays this album makes me long for the 80's. Great cover and great music. Get it!(...)"
