On 'Just Friends', their first CD together, seven-string guitar masters John Pizzarelli and Rick Haydon are joined by bassist Martin Pizzarelli and drummer Tony Tedesco on spirited renditions of 11 timeless standards. A professional musician and educator for more than 35 years, Rick has worked with an impressive list of jazz guitarists, including Johnny Smith, Howard Roberts and Pat Martino. Rick is a Professor of Music at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. A masterful guitarist with a smooth, engaging style, John is a worthy successor to his father, jazz-guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli. A native of Paterson, New Jersey, John took up the guitar when he was six years old. He joined his father onstage at the age of 20 and began his solo career in 1982.
