CD ReviewsGo to the source. shannon williams | 02/03/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Do yourself a favor, instead of plunking your money down on this solid "best of" get the four discs these cuts come from; Hard Again, King Bee, I'm Ready and Muddy "Mississipi" Waters Live. They are all blues classics. Then proceed to Howlin' Wolf's London Sessions, Sonny Terry's Whoopin', Buddy Guy and Junior Wells' Smokin' Dynamite and Drinkin' TNT, Willie Dixon's I Am The Blues and Johnny Winter's Nothin' But The Blues and you've got some of the greatest recordings of the blues' modern era. You can't go wrong...Simon" Sounds like good whiskey tastes shannon williams | kentucky | 09/23/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "A must for any blues listener. The best examople of why Muddy was the man, the hoochi coochi man." Great music, great liner notes too! shannon williams | 08/31/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "The best of Muddy Waters' sessions with Johnny Winter. The liner notes give a pretty complete history of Muddy's career, and include lots of comments from the sessions that produced the music. It's funny to see Johnny Winter credited with guitar/screaming.As for the music, it's great! Very energetic. Sounds like the guys were just having fun playing. Great slide from Muddy and Winter, piano from Pinetop Perkins, and some searing harmonica from James Cotton. Jealous-Hearted Man, Crosseyed Cat, and a ten-minute live Deep Down In Florida are my favorites. If you like this music, Muddy's King of the Electric Blues collects most of the rest of the Johnny Winter sessions."
