As a Van Halen fan, I was very excited about the possibility of Chickenfoot featuring Sammy, Mike, Joe and Chad. I wish I could say it quenches my thirst for a new Van Halen album, but not quite. What I can say though, is that these four guys played their asses off, and created something very cool and exciting. Chickenfoot is a great band.

This album doesn't have the 'typical' Satriani sound and complexity. It is probably not up to Sammy Hagar's or RHCP fans expectations either.

I have listened to this CD a few times now, and have come to the conclusion that these 4 guys are having a good time playing straight ahead rock and roll.

People and fans should realize that these musicians don't have to fit a musical mold or sound. Just let these guys have fun playing together, and enjoy what they do.

My 2 cents...........

After reading reviews of "Chickenfoot" ["This album burns", "WOW!!", "AMAZING ROCK", "Great Comeback..."], I listened to the album with great anticipation. I have to wonder how anyone could rate this album anything higher than 3 stars. And 3 stars would be reserved for a diehard Hagar fan that loves drinking his Cabo Wabo tequila.
Quite simply, this is a below average album from a group of old men trying to recapture past glories that in retrospect were not all that glorious.

I remember the day they announced Hagar would replace Roth in Van Halen and I was excited (keep in mind I was 17 years old)...that is until I heard their first piece of garbage. I swore off Van Halen from that day forward. Now I am 41 and enough time has passed that I decided to give ole' Sammy another shot. I guess he doesn't improve with age, just stays the same three-cord self.

You can use all the superlatives that you want to describe this "super group" but I think I'll choose boring.

"They don't want to be called a supergroup, but I don't know how else to describe them. The dynamics, drive and originality of this collection of guys who know their business can be called nothing less than super. The innovation of Satrioni and Hagar along with the drive of Smith and Anthony create a synergistic masterpiece that makes waiting for their next album seem like a million years away. To listen to Sammy sing you would not dream that he is sixty two...sounds as good as he ever did! A lot of the older musicans and singers from the 70's have difficulty recreating their sound. Not so with Sammy! He's still got it!"
Great CD! Exactly as described!

"I knew when I read the reviews and saw the names of the members of Chickenfoot that this would be an awesome disc! Imagine, a supergroup made up of some of the greatest rockers of our time! Can't wait for their next release!"
