CD Reviews

" Lifesize"....Absolutely Brilliant!
Adrian Quinlan | Ireland | 05/03/2005

"What an amazing debut album! These irish guys formed a band in Dublin in the late 1990's & are now based in Quenns N.Y. I was given this album as a present from a friend who lives there & on the first listen I was hooked. The lead singer Colin Smith hits the high notes like Jeff Buckley, which says a lot for his amazing talent. Adrian Mordaunt on drums is outstanding & has a similar style to Matt Cameron(ex Soundgarden & Pearl Jam). Talented brothers Emmet & Oisin O Malley play bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals. Together these guys really rock and their album Lifesize is in my car cd player for over four months and i'm still listening to it. Track four "wastin'" is still my favourite. I cannot recommend it enough. Just go & buy it, you will NOT be dissappointed. Check their site mrnorthmusic.com. I can't wait for the new album. Lifesize, 12 moving tunes of epic proportions."
One of the very best ....

"Aside from Rooster's self-titled debut cd, this cd is the only other in my collection that I actually like every song on the cd. From the slowburning opening track Let Me In, you know you are in for something special with these guys yet the following 3 songs, Speak No Evil, Start from A and Wasting would not appear out of place on any hard rock cd on the planet. The Eye and My Love are perfect "middle of cd slow down to catch your breath" songs before things get seriously left of centre with the mesmeric "The Bearded". The title track Lifesize merges perfectly with Silver Mouth (you have to hear the opening guitar chords to this song !). Finishing up, Give Me Life should have Brian May et al knocking on Colin Smith's door and asking him to front Queen's summer tour while Bring It On (being the band's best known song in this reviewer's eyes) is a belter to finish the cd off ....... save for the now customary "hidden track" at the end "King Solomon" which, for the record, a colleague thinks is the bands best song. Aside from Bring it On, I tend to agree with him. Roll on CD number 2 ....."
These guys rock.

"This is one the best albums ever produced. I was turned on to Mr North through a Bryan Adams concert and fell instantly in love with the music and the group. I bought the cd that night and they signed it after their performance. I went out of my way to see them live again with Journey and then again at a local bar. One of the few bands who don't disappoint live. The album is fresh and the lyrics provacative. The band is friendly and fun to watch and hear perform. I have and will continue to recommend this album to any one who truly loves music. Highly recommended!"
