CD Reviews

Good, but not excelent!
Agostinho de Medeiros Brito Junior | 06/29/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"It sounds like deep forest, but not so well. There isn't the "dance" feeling that I was expecting from It. Track 8 is my preffered one, because it's completely full of rhythm. This track is really excelent, a real deep forest track. The other tracks are good too. The CD looks like "beyond the mind's eye", from Jan Hammer. In resume, while I listen to it about 1 time at a month, I listen to Deep forest's made in japan about 3 times at a day. P.S.: Sorry for the any wrong text... my english writing is terrible! ;)"
Windows into Neolithic Age
Sergey Lenkov | Mother Russia | 01/09/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Michel Sanchez is a member of Deep Forest. This solo CD was recorded in 1994. Of course, it`s not as good as "World Mix", "Boheme" or "Music Detected", but this CD much more interesting than other albums by Deep Forest.

It starts from dynamic song "Tholos". Tholos means a kind of mysterious sanctauries or tombs, which were built from gigantic stones in Europe in Neolithic Age.

The album is a mix of dynamic and slow light instrumental electronic melodies with many samples of ethnic singing (one thing is bad - there are no any commentaries by Sanchez or references to the sources of this samples). If such an album was recorded, say, by David Byrne or Eno it could be a sensation!

So if you like early Deep Forest - you would like this CD.

A must for every fan of DF."
