"Kaiser George and The Hi-Risers: Transatlantic Dynamite

SpinCD025

Spinout Records

Welcome back to the future of 1962!

The new CD from Kaiser George and the Hi-Risers is a wonderful trip back to the days of "yesterdays"....

Days of a thin rockin Elvis and the ghost of Buddy Holly.

Days of the local soda shop with Coca Cola and chocolate malteds. Days of the early recordings of four young lads named John, Paul, George, and Ringo. This CD is the real deal.

Transatlantic Dynamite, the latest offering from Kaiser George and the Hi-Risers is simply put, the new millennium sound with beat music sensibilities. Nobody does it better (or beater) than Kaiser George, master-mind and spiritual leader of the Kaisers. This CD is a Godsend for those who are disillusioned and frustrated with the faceless, techno-generic product forced upon the masses from record companies; and mercilessly pounded into our brains by a spineless FM radio.

The opening track, I'd Rather Be With You, is alone worth the price of admission. I loved this record so much I immediately ordered another copy from Spinout for a buddy. Kaiser George and his mates have earned their chops and deserve our respect.

High Praise as Kaiser George Navigates Back Down the Mersey
Mark F. Braun | Norridge, IL | 11/08/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Familiar riffs and dead-on authentic 60s sounds make this my "gem of the year" for 2006; well, this and Ray Davis' new CD: buy 'em both (the ex-Kinks genius did a defilingly great solo CD as well).

But I come to praise the Kaiser (George)! These guys walk the talk and play the sounds and Man, it is FANTASTIC! I wasn't sure if this CD was a Rutles sort of parody; it certainly follows the same path: lift and sound close to source material. Who cares? On my umpteenth playing of the CD, it stills sounds fresh, and isn't THAT nice to say about anything on the market in 2006? Probably because it's a timewarp album by a neo Mersey Beat band.

Sad that your sets of 60s oldies sound so familiar? Want more? Pack away your 45s, kids, and meet the new Mersey Beat generation: Kaiser George and band play stuff so perfectly 60s, you'll be glad to be alive in 2007. Like a blast from your AM radio past and no, that's not over-hype, just a fact: full cords get a new life from classic tunes and rework themselves into brand new stuff. It all sounds familiar; it all sounds new: a little bit of Herman's Hermits with Peter and Gordon, Beatles and Buddy Holly. For fifty-somethings like us, it can be as fun as a date on a summer's Saturday. Toss it in your car's CD player and go crusin' for cheap chow with your baby; Kaiser George & the Hi-Risers will be the BEST CD purchase an old 60's fan can make. And best, they're all alive and well and capable of producing more.

Kaiser George is (as of this writing) touring with Los Straitjackets and the always swingin' Pontani Sisters: the show is an a-go-go twist party that is too just too cool: catch it.

Hey Kaiser and Hi-Risers: COOL! COOL! COOL! MORE! MORE! MORE!"
