CD Reviews

Old Time Rock & Roll!
deepbluereview | SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA USA | 09/12/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The Chief and masked men? No it's not the Lone Ranger and Tonto but, Eddie Clearwater and Los Straitjackets joining together for a little throw back rock and roll. Sounding at times like Chuck Berry, "Ding Dong Daddy" and "Hillbilly Blues" and at other times like the Straightjackets themselves, "Monkey Paw", the Chief and the Jackets put out a novel twist on the blues. This disc will mainly appeal to early rockers, fans of James Dean, Chuck Berry, and American Graffiti."
The Chief

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album has been nominated for a Grammy!! In the traditional blues category....its about time!! The Chief has been keeping the Blues alive...by actively touring and performing dispite his young 60 ish years. If you ever been to one of "The Chief's" performances...you would love him and the blues. He is definitely a performer and can play the heck out of the guitar.Awesome....is not descriptive enough to describe Eddy Clearwater..but it will do for now!!"
