Thanks to Delmark and Acoustic Sounds, people are starting to take notice and its a good thing.This is a comeback album of sorts, recorded in the early 1990s with a the Ice Cream Men, a group of local Chicago bluesmen. Many of the songs are re-workings of blues classics by Jimmie Lee and other artists. The instrumentation is loose, as it should be, and Jimmie Lee sings with great force and conviction.This is a good anedote to the rocked-out "blues" you usually hear these days... No screaching, wailing guitars here, just good music from the home of the blues, Chicago.Great stuff! Enjoy!"
