"Jimmie Lee Robinson was one of the great unsung heroes of Chicago blues, and until recently received very little recognition. Thanks to Delmark and Acoustic Sounds, people are starting to take notice and its a good thing. This is a comeback album of sorts, recorded in the early 1990s with a the Ice Cream Men, a group of local Chicago bluesmen. Many of the songs are re-workings of blues classics by Jimmie Lee and other artists. The instrumentation is loose, as it should be, and Jimmie Lee sings with great force and conviction. This is a good anedote to the rocked-out "blues" you usually hear these days... No screaching, wailing guitars here, just good music from the home of the blues, Chicago.Great stuff! Enjoy!"
