Synopsis

Product Description
THE LITTLE SPINNER Release Date: September 11th, 2009 Janet Bates once again moves us with rhythms that stir our passions and lyrics that move our hearts to sing in unison and harmony Spirit of Guthrie and voice like Baez aptly applies more than ever with Janet s newest CD The Little Spinner . Brilliantly produced by Ben Wisch, this CD is no less than stunning in its musical brilliance. Janet delivers exceptional vocal performances that are solid, haunting and heart moving. With background and harmony vocals from Tracy Grammer and Eugene Ruffolo these songs are truly beautiful and powerful. The album starts with a song of how we build so many walls in life that only leave love and life on the outsides of them, The Wall Come Tumbling Down says it all. Where Time Goes speaks to the passage of time and to those iconic memories that leave us with those scattered days we summarily call our lives. The Canary in a Coal Mine is haunting and dauntingly reminds us that this world of ours is in peril and asks will we make it out in time , Celia Says is a wonderful Dave Carter song that comes to life here and fits in so well with the theme of this album, what you have done to one of us, you have done to all . The theme song for this album is The Little Spinner , a song that takes us through the time of Child labour in the US cotton mills at the turn of the last century, a time we cannot repeat. Two wonderful old songs return from previous albums, Time to Go, and Not in Kansas anymore. Coming For You will haunt you, and move you. With This Seed will take your breath away as it asks each of us what truly is important in life and how simple the answers are. He Was Born is the Christmas song that we all would love to have written. Ghost of a Soldier will be a timeless piece and will always ask If you loved me, why did you send me off to fight . Save Our Souls , you can hear the waves at your door. The a capella Let the Rich Man Pay for a Change with Tracy Grammer, will amaze and stir your soul as it so reflects the hard times we are in. The album is truly wonderful, Enjoy each and every song. They are all worth sharing with friends. Janet Bates
