Synopsis

Album Description
The excellent band Jane, from Hannover, made quite a splash on the international scene and was discovered by Brain founder Günter Körber. On this, their third outing originally released in 1974, the band delivers unusually raw songs. But despite the missing keyboards, Jane III disseminates an almost unbelievable and hard to explain mythical fascination, which emanated from a lot of the groups in the seventies. Through the instrumentation of two guitars, bass & drums and the (typical for Jane) slow and brooding tempo, Jane III sounds especially timeless compared to their other releases.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Jane has always had the grace and the layed back stoned easy feel of the great Floyd grooves like Dark Side and Wish you Were Here, except they played thru primitive equipment. Simple drums and guitars were being used because thats all there was. Yet they created real visionary astro- space rock. Part of the simplicity came from the fact they were not that good of players. Sounding like real beginners they cranked up the amps and wrote and sang the songs that kept flowing out, and the creativity never let up thru all the releases. All of them featuring different singers and keyboard players bringing their own influence along. Jane III is all guitar rock with Jane's slightly off key vocals. All the Jane cd's on Brain records were very hard to find and expensive. But this release on Revisted records is a Godsend, if they release all the Janes get them all.For now Jane III is a good start for the curious..."
