CD Reviews

De Retour a la Source
John D. Husted | Interlochen MI USA | 02/07/2008

"I found this album includes the best country I have heard. I have been surrounded by all kinds of music all of my life (60 years). I am familiar with Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Country, and Classical. I have heard beautiful music and not so beautiful music. I have learned to tell the difference. I don't know of any contemporary singer who has a more beautiful voice than Isabelle Boulay. She is able to sing in different genre and sound beautiful in all of them. I, myself, have sang in Choirs and was a musician from age 10 to 20, playing in both band and orchestra. I now live just down the road from the Interlochen Center for the Arts."

"I purchased this CD during a trip to Montreal and was surprised when I realized it was a country music album. Having said that, let me say that this is one of the best CDs I have ever heard even though I don't like country music. Isabelle has an excellent voice and she can adapt it to almost any music genre. My favorites songs on this CD are, "Entre Matane et Baton Rouge", "De retour a la source", "Lui", "Only a woman's hart" (yes, she sings in English too) and "Mon Village au bout du monde". I really recommend it. You can visit her web site and listen to the CD samples. I'm quite certain you will enjoy her amazing voice."
