CD Reviews

One of my favorite godflesh albums...

"i am reviewing this also just to give it a bump up in rating...due to the lame asses who give this a one star review when they should stick to masturbating over their rammstein (or whatever gay ass industrial wanna be band you can substitute here) albums. anyways, selfless has always been one of my favorite godflesh albums...yes, it's a bit more rock and a bit repetitive (as are all their albums, really...), but it has a spacey-ness to it that i think alot of other godflesh albums lack. worth it alone for the drone majesty of "body dome light" and "mantra." i loaned this to a friend years ago and he said it reminded him of joy division being fed through a meat take that as you will. i give it four stars, because with all godflesh records, there is some filler and experiments that don't quite gel...but other than that, highly recommended."

"Godflesh isn't like any other band. Don't try to compare this to any other band. This album has much cleaner vocals then the earlier releases. You can almost sing along with Justin. Yes, the songs do blend together and it is very heavy, but the overall experience is amazing."
Ambient Grind?

"This cd is the most ambient of Godflesh, but to some extent, the most mature. A lot of ambient can get boring or far too repetitive, but this album is of course, done in complete Godflesh style. Some people complain this album is TOO repetitive, which is one of the things I stated it didn't suffer from. It merely suffers from successfully creating a mood and sticking with it and building off of it. If you have your doubts, purchase this album used for much cheaper and regret you didnt get it shrinkwrapped :)"
