"Deadmaker" (or "Totmacher," as Ratzinger sings it auf Deutsch) is a two-disc teaser single for :Wumpscut:'s fourth full-length, Eevil Young Flesh. It's a decent piece of industrial stomp, replete with processed vocals and pounding beats, but, predictably, "Deadmaker" wears thin after about four versions--despite the degree to which remixers such as Haujobb, Suicide Commando, and Aghast View bend, twist, and tweak it. As a "bonus," Ratzinger intersperses samples from a German film, but it doesn't help, and neither does the embarrassing cover art. CD ReviewsA bit too much acuhack@aol.com | Highland Park, Illinois United States | 06/21/2000 (2 out of 5 stars) "being a big :wumpscut: fan, it is difficult to review this album. though the original version of totmacher is an excellent song, and a great deal of these remixes are very well done .. this is waaay too much. i don't think it is possible to listen to this album in its entirety at once, it gets to be a bit repetetive. some of the remixes are done very well, though, namely those done by daniel meyer of haujobb. this cd is worth a listen, but you probably won't put it on more than a couple times"
