"Billing themselves as "innovative progressive rock", one finds it hard to disagree with Event. One might initially dismiss them as another Dream Theater/Fates Warning wannabe, but there's more going on than meets the eye--specifically, some fusion and electronica elements all over the place. Guitarist/writer/Keys-programmer Shaun Michaud and singer/lyricist Dave DeLuco have put together some rather singular compositions, ranging from frenetic Vai-ish guitar antics to a rhythm section possibly better than Iron Maiden's to a singer who listens to a LOT of King's X to haunting, scintillating, powerful keyboard programming that invariably sounds like everything from Power Windows-era Rush to UK to techno, trance, ambient, or almost industrial flavors. Worth checking out."

"This is an excellent album. Although Event have a *very* individual sound, if I were forced to make comparisons I would say they could be described as a cross between Chromakey and Queensryche, with a bit of Dream Theater thrown in for good measure - difficult to imagine! This album contains a series of complex but also oddly "catchy" songs with lots of carefully-controlled experimentation with rhythm patterns and melodies, having an overall "synthesized/processed" sound. The music is driven by an awesome percussion/bass combination that are more than happy to experiment with some bizarre rhythm patterns, whilst keyboard and guitar provide excellent (and just as intruiging) melody lines over the top. The sound is rounded out by an excellent vocalist, pitched about mid-range but with a powerful edge to his voice. Make no mistake, these guys are all extremely talented musicians, including two graduates from the now-famous Berklee College of music. This album shows a great deal of versatility in composition ranging from tracks with instant appeal to quite complex instrumentals, while retaining a consistent (but *very* unique) sound throughout. An excellent album, and a worthy addition to any modern progressive fan's collection (ie. Dream Theater, Dali's Dilemma, Cairo, Fates Warning, etc.) - it will fill a gap that you didn't even know existed until now!"
