CD Reviews

Ambient Jazz

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Great album recorded live in Detroit area in the intimate confines of the Magic Bag Theatre in Ferndale. This band's style is new to me, and encompasses two of my favorite genres: Jazz, and Ambient/Techno. Four or five great songs including Good Morning America, Blue Bamboo, and Voodoo Jammin' are well worth the price of admission. Originally bought album for one song I heard on local adult contemporary Jazz station, and was pleased to find other musical gems on this album too. Interesting sidebar; believe this diverse musical duo is of German origin."

"Duration: 46:49
Released on: October 17, 1995
Live recording from the band's tour in the States.
At the time this tour started, Dancing Fantasy had 3 of their last 4 albums in the Billboard charts! The audience reacted accordingly: they went right down and boogied on the smoove grooves these guys were dishing out during their concerts in Dallas, San Francisco and Detroit. The smooth jazz went from groove to groove, became funky and in parts downright rocky, spirits lifted by the enthusiasm of the audience and the great vibes that were extended by the crowds to the guys on stage to set fire to their laid back music.Warning: This one of the very few CD's that I heard fo hundreds of times without getting bored. Now I take it with me whenevr and wherever I travel. I listen to it anywhere and everywhere. Guaranteed uplifting effect."
