Synopsis

Product Description
BILLBOARD Magazine's 2008 Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year, prolific producer/multi-instrumentalist, Paul Hardcastle releases the much anticipated volume VI in his immensely popular Jazzmasters series, a vehicle that helped him re-launch his career in the early '90s, made him a household name and has garnered him legions of rabid fans worldwide.
It's been 19 years since the release of Jazzmasters I a pet project that became a format game changer in its initial release and one that has defined a music style that has yet to be copied. VI mark the entity's ambitious return to the fold and continues to raise the bar with a grouping of highly charged melodic and memorable pieces that have become the Hardcastle/Jazzmasters signature over the last two decades.

PAUL HARDCASTLE'S SWINGING, SMOOTH JAZZMASTERS VI SET
RBSProds | Deep in the heart of Texas | 07/20/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Five IRRESISTIBLE Stars!! Composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, producer Paul Hardcastle's sixth edition of his Jazzmasters series is a winner. Into his third decade of creating smooth swinging music since his first hits "Rain Forest" and the controversial montage "19", his music has produced a string of #1 hits since he entered (and helped create) the musical vortex mixing easy-listening, dance, smooth jazz, and "quiet storm radio" music that has won him awards like the Smooth Jazz Artist of 2008. "Awakening Thoughts" eases the listener into 'the Hardcastle musical experience' in just over a minute of gentle music. On the instrumental side, there are swingers like "Touch and Go" (with son Paul, Jr's sweet, swinging sax), "Solar Sky", "Cloud Watching", and "In The Key of Time" which feature saxes, guitars, synthesizers, and flutes served up over an infectious beat with strings, with the trademark Hardcastle 'attention to musical detail'. "One Chance" "I Can't Get By", "So Into You", and "I Really Like" are very persuasive lead vocals by Beki Biggins with clear messages on living and loving. BTW, daughter Maxine Hardcastle is singing background vocals. But "The Vision" vocal with its deep lyrics and message about life, and the full reprise of "One Chance" with Paul's spoken philosophy are the icing on this musical cake. "Jazzmasters VI" is a great way to set a musical vibe. Highly Recommended. Five SWINGING Stars. (This review is based on an iTunes download: 13 tracks:~50 minutes)"
Paul Does It Again!

"Just looking at the beautiful album cover for Paul Hardcastle's latest album, "Jazzmasters VI", with it's gorgeous depiction of an orange sunset over the ocean, I knew that this album would be something truly special without having heard a single note of it beforehand. And I was right---"Jazzmasters VI" is absolutely wonderful, heavenly smooth-jazz music from start to finish. But hey, would you expect anything else from the multi-talented King Of Smooth Jazz? Listening to "Jazzmasters VI" is a marvelous experience, the music is SO wonderfully uplifting, and guaranteed to make you feel good. These are GREAT, groovy, catchy songs! Any one of them could be huge hits, and they're all sung to perfection by the soulful Becki Biggins: "One Chance", "I Really Like", "I Can't Get By", "The Vision", and "So Into You" (though *not* a cover of the old Atlanta Rhythm Section classic, though I can totally see Paul covering this song sometime---how about it, Paul?). And of course, Paul gives us a very generous dose of very dreamy, perfectly-crafted instrumentals as well, including "Touch And Go", "Cloud Watching", "Solar Sky", "In The Key Of Time", and "Dimensions Of Light". Also lending marvelous contributions are the next generation of Hardscastles, Maxine and Paul Jr., helping out their dad on backing vocals and saxophone, respectively, as well as saxmen Chris "Snake" Davis and Rock Hendrix. I don't buy new music CD's too often, as I mostly stick to classic artists, but I always make an exception for Paul Hardcastle. Album for album, his music is stunning, and I'll always check out what he does, as he never disappoints, and "Jazzmasters VI" continues Paul's long, impressive winning streak. It's an outstanding album, and I guarantee you'll love it! Just put it on, stare at the sunset on the cover, and dream. :-)"
