CD Reviews

This Guy is so good!
John B. Hall | PA, USA | 05/12/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's hard not to really enjoy the infectious singing, playing, and rhythm of Crazy Joe Tritschler and the Mad River Outlaws. I'm not sure where Mad River is, but I can tell you they have some hot music there. Based in Enon, Ohio, Crazy Joe and his musical cohorts are blazing a trail of flat-out rockabilly and rock'n'roll across the USA. Crazy Joe sometimes tours with Deke Dickerson and his Ecco-Fonics, and also appears at various rock'n'roll festivals. Joe's driving guitar riffs and enthusiastic vocals dominate the CD and make you really wonder if he sleeps standing up, so he can rock some more when he wakes up. "Mary Ann" is a clue to the kind of ride Crazy Joe's music will take you on. "Baby's Behind" sounds so innocent, but if you listen closely, you'll discover that our Joe can be a naughty boy on occasion. "Electric Ukulele Rag," a take-off on the classic "Steel Guitar Rag," may cause smoke to come from your speakers. It starts out as a nice little guitar instrumental, but really rocks out as the music progresses. The title track, "Sweatin' Bullets...", is more sedate and shows you that this guy can really sing; a nice job. This is a quality job by a quality musician! +--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"
