No, Basskraft is not Kraftwerk, but it could be. These folks did their homewerk. They know their Computer Love from their Computer World. A Bass Tribute to Kraftwerk is a CD of Kraftwerk covers--faithfully done, though a bit slower and with a bit more backbeat to its backbone. The label on this CD has a very different advisory: Warning! Mega Low Bass! May Damage Speakers! Well, for the most part it's just a gimmick, but the bass is beautiful. It doesn't pulse hard--it has a nice round bottom that is part of the music instead of being painfully up front. Perhaps this might be a disappointment for some, but it wears nicely on the ears. So why buy Basskraft when you can hear the originals? Maybe to get all those great songs on one CD: "Autobahn," "Trans-Europe Express," "The Robots," and even the rare "Tour de France." --Bob Boilen

"First off, this is a tribute to KRAFTWERK, in Bass format. Pandisc Records did a great job on putting out this album, since most of the artist on Pandisc like Beat Dominator, DJ Laz and Maggotron, use plenty of Kraftwerk samples to make us remember that Kraftwerk are the gods and originators of the Electronic music genre (Industrial, Electric Funk, Freestyle, Miami Bass, House and Trance). All the tracks on this album hold up thier end of the bargin for any KW fan and the average Bass fan. For KW fans, add this to your collection and show that you are a true KW fan, this CD has the KW spirit alive and well. For the Miami Bass fans, you have the best of both worlds on this CD, Kraftwerk and Bass (what a combo!). For others, think it as an updated version of KW covers that will go on for years to come. In other words "Old-School enters the 21th Century"."

"'It's more fun to compute' and 'A digital world' are good tracks. The vocals are a big dissapointment. Not to be compared with Kraftwerk."
