CD Reviews

Excellent Guitar Instrumental

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I first heard a couple of tracks by Armik last year in a mixed collection CD called somewhat like Best World Instrumentals or so. I had never heard of this man before. I noted the good guitar play and arrangement, and six months later I came across a complete album by Armik. I took the risk to buy it and never had a chance to regret. This music is especially good to share with romantically oriented women. It will really support you when you're working overseas in remote desert locations lacking of normal entertainment. I shared my thoughts with my colleagues and was surprised to find out that many people appreciate Armik. And I was lucky to hear more Armik's albums. Many thanks, Mr. Armik"
Malaga - A Unique Experience

"This album sees more orchestral support for Armik. In particular, the piano and the Spanish accordian have been used beautifully in Romantic Souls and Isle Of The Sun respectively. The title track is a lively song with clear Spanish overtones although Armik's personal style is unmistakable as well. The second track is Romantic Souls which is a big favourite of mine. The beauty of the tune is simply heart-rending. The romance in the song is almost tangible.Romantic Souls is a very catchy tune and most people fall in love with it the moment they hear it for the first time. Andalucia La Luna has a very flamenco beginning but soon Armik steps in with his trademark lilting melody. Reflections Of Paradise is a relatively slower track with a slow beat.It reminds me of For Your Eyes and Meet You In Heaven, the two beautiful tracks from Gypsy Flame, Armik's second Album.Memories Of Mallorca is another masterful song with flamenco rhythms. The tune is lively and makes you snap your fingers.Ritmos Flamenco is undoubtedly one of the best tracks of the album. A very passionate song with the tune pleading with Armik's signature romanctic fervour. Fire Dance returns with a swift beat and takes you for a walk on the wild rainforests of Amazon. Cartas De Amor starts off with the sad, sustained notes of a keyboard and the beat is so well-woven with the tune that with every single thump of it, it tends to break your heart in two. This track can be grouped with Reflections of Paradise for its similar style and slower tempo.Pacifico is like having a walk on the beach. It is refreshing and uplifting. As the song progresses, the tempo picks up reaching dizzying heights.Isle Of The Sun is yet another big favourite of mine. A beautiful, beautiful song that starts off with the sweetest melody possible. Armik comes in and masterfully takes the reins of the tune and the accordian comes in later one more time for another etude. This tune is very romantic and transports you to another world and you snap awake once only the tune ends. Two thumbs up for this song. Moonlight Fantasy is a fantastic song with a lot of passion and fire. The song swings through a beautiful soundscape evoking old feelings all the way.The last track maintains the tradition Armik started in Gypsy Flame of playing without any accompaniment and orchestral support. The song is impressive. All in all, Malaga is an album full of rich and diverse tunes and every music lover is got to have it for sure."

"Another fantastic album by Armik. Highly recommended. Armik's music is not comparable to any other guitarist. He is truly a genius. The best in the world."
