I'm curious how the wish list really works? I've been a member of Swapacd for several years now and thought I had a good understanding of the Wish list, but a recent event makes me question how it really works.
I usually check my Wish list ar least 2-3 times a week, sometimes I'm on there every day. My friends give me grief since I spend so much time on this site, but my music collection is very important to me. I have about 700 items in my wish list. The highest listed items are where I am the only one wishing for a CD. The next highest are items that I am #1 on, but another person is wishing for the same item, but have it higher on thier Wish list.
So when I see one of my items move from (1 of 3) to (2 of 3), I moved it into the top 100 of my wish list to get it back to #1. It is a new artist for me and I see that several other CD's by the same artist are no longer #1 on my Wish list, so I move all of them up in my Wish list. It seems to take weeks to get back to #1, so I started a small test and moved one of the CD's to top of my Wish list.
I rarely miss checking my list so I figuered that the other person had moved the CD to #1 to get ahead of me, I estimated it would take me 4 days at @1 on my list to be the first in line if the CD was posted. The other user had the CD as #130 on thier list, and if I missed 3 days where they had listed it as #1 and 4 days @ #130 then I would need 3000 points in 4 days. Since #1 ranking would give me 3636 points, I would once again be #1 in 4 days.
It's been over 3 weeks and I am still 2 of 3! Can someone explain what is happening?
