CD Reviews

In love with Teenagers in Love!
01/25/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you liked "American Graffiti's" do-wop music, this 43-song collection is for you! Not only does it have The Marcel's "Blue Moon" and Del Viking's "Come Go With Me," but also the Diamond's "Little Darlin'" and The Silhouettes' "Get a Job." All are here: The Skyliners, Platters, Moonglows, Tokens, Diamonds, Capris, Little Anthony & The Imperials, and more! Do Wop never sounded so good!
But wait! Unlike the American Graffiti tracks, it doesn't ignore the girls! It has extra nice romantic tracks like Shelley Fabares' "Johnny Angel" and even "Hey Paula" by Paul & Paula. Even the Shirelles does their turn with "Baby It's You" and Brenda Lee adds "I Want to Be Wanted." All the great gals are here --- The Poni-Tails, Chantels, Connie Francis (doing "Where The Boys Are," what else?)
And it's nice that the collection contains early cult classics like Conway Twitty's "It's Only Make Believe", Phil
Phillips' "Sea of Love," the silly "Alley Oop" and the Dells' "Oh What a Night."
This electic collection is one of the best!"
