Album DescriptionAfricavision, launched by Buda Musique in collaboration with Radio France International, is a ten-CD collection devoted to the music of African films made since the sixties. Spanning half a century of African film scores, these tributes bear witness to a great variety of films, filmmakers, regions, peoples, and musical styles. The first volume, devoted to the cinema of Western Africa, presents music from French-speaking African films and films about French-speaking Africa. Features nineteen titles composed by famous musicians such as pianist Ray Lema, kora player Lamine Konté, Mokhtar Samba, So Kalmery, and more. Upcoming volumes will include music from Senegalese guitarist Wasis Diop, Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango, and the late cultural giant & multi-instrumentalist Francis Bebey.
