CD Reviews

Lost in the Shuffle

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I, like the other reviewers here, am saddened this album never made it into the right hands. A bit of trivia, for the record; the record label wanted the band to change some things, the band refused, as a result the label didn't release the album. The band, to spite them made the album downloadable online for free. I actually have a copy of the CD pressing as mentioned here, and if you're into talented rock of the early 00s, this is definitely worth the 30-some-odd dollars I'm seeing people sell it for; it's that good. Breathing Water, their 5-song EP, is just as good, and the reason I started listening to them.

The song writing is so far ahead of most of the garbage that was being released at the time. Musically, lyrically, emotionally, a fantastic album with a unique and interesting sound. Since this album, Steve Isaacs, the singer and primary song writer, has played Tommy on Broadway, and was noticed by Dave Navarro. They formed the band The Panic Channel and you can get an idea of Steve's writing on this album as well.

It's truly a disappointment these guys were never given the chance they deserve. If you get the opportunity, buy this album. To close, the first line from this album, song is called Figure 8, shows lyrical depth not found everywhere, "Something snide in the way the sunshine's hiding from view.""
