"I've always been a major fan of X, and especially Exene. I've waited patiently for something new from her since the '97 cd she did with her band Auntie Christ....and this cd was worth the wait. Whereas Auntie Christ was pure all-out punk, this new one goes back to her country roots mixed with punk... when I first listened to it I thought it was very good, and it kept growing on me...now I see it as a piece of excellence... the vocals are better than ever, and the band sounds loud, clear & awesome. This is a MUST for any fan of X or Exene. It would be hard to list favorite tracks, as every one is excellent, even the 3 instrumental songs on the cd."

"What a great combo, of punk and country, yet it still can't be classified as ethier ! No one can compare to Exenes writing style or haunting voice. Lead guitarist Sam has flair for a creative dark surf guitar, but with bits of punk and Chuck Berry tossed in. Matt Young keeps a good steady beat. Jason Edge adds flavor with his slide guitar, and Kim Chi holds the whole thing up with her simple but classic bass lines and harmonies with Exene. This band defiantly is worth it. Exene still has it! Creativity at its best!! Finally something new to get in to!!"
Almost as good as a new X album

"Fast and melodic, this is worlds ahead of her previous project "Auntie Christ". Still finding myself wishing for John on some of the songs--his voice was such a perfect foil for hers. But all in all it's one of my favorite recent punk albums.
Her voice and writing are still among the most interesting in music, and, like X, this album shows that punk STILL doesn't need to be a sloppy incomprehensible mess to have energy and attitude. Why can't younger bands seem to figure that out?"

"This is a good album that has much of the musical and lyrical energy of early X. Comparison is unfair, perhaps, but the record seems to aim at that sound. It doesn't have the dark melodic base provided by John Doe's singing, and it lacks the sheer manic inventiveness of those records. But all the songs are smart and have bite and Exene sounds like herself. If you liked early X this is definitiely worth a listen."
