"It seems like these days few bands can accomplish such a simple thing as "Originality". That is certainly not the case for Mourning septembers debut record "A man can change his stars". Though I do hear some similarities In vocalist Tony chavez's voice, I must say this cd reeks of unique and clever melodies. with the personal and often spiritual lyrics found throughout this album You find yourself connecting with it as you listen to it more and more. and personally, I love listening to an album that affects you in this way. & for all of you further seems forever/sense field fans..here's your added bonus: Two vocal appearances by Jon bunch himself. This fact alone is what drew me to this band in the first place, and I must say..after hearing the album for myself many times, AND having the oppurtunity to see them live this past weekend..I must reccomend this Album to all fans of this genre. You surely will not be dissapointed, I know I wasn't.
Record highlights:
Track #1 "Closer to closure"
Track #2 "Glorietta"
Track #7 "April dreams" &
Track #10 "Lights and jewels"

"I heard "Glorietta" on the radio and was determined to find the band who sang it. Right away, I bought the CD without any doubts about the other songs. And I was right. Every single song rocks and has an awesome Christian message. I would highly recommend this CD if you like Relient K, Anberlin or Copeland. The best songs are Glorietta, Closer to Closure, Tonight and April Dreams."
Great Band

"To start off...They do not need work. The album producer has nothing to do with the band, so first of all: dont listen to bands just because of the producer - that's just lame, and secondly: The band has no control if the producer makes their cd "high quality" or "not up to your standards", it's up to their music and talent to get them thus far. They are a decent rock band and I have good expectations to see another album coming in the future. I think they would be a lot better with a piano involved..hehe...if you like these guys check out, Waking Ashland, Acceptance, Mae, Anberlin, and Number One Fan."
Great CD

"Mourning September is a great band and this is a great CD. The musicianship on is absolutely incredible. Great production and great songwriting, this is the kind of music that you can hear over and over. If you like quality rock with an emphasis on strong drums and strong guitar this is the CD for you. The front man has great vocal presence and can sing very well, the harmonies are tight and the melodies infectious.....Buy it!"

"Mourning September's first cd is pretty good. The first two songs are the best on the cd. Some of the other songs are good, but not overaly awesome. All and all a pretty well done cd."
