"Perhaps no one has gave this CD a review yet because when you get this CD all you will do is listen. The performer lets the music be, adding no crazy harmonies the musician just looks for truth in the score. As always the quality of tone and clarity of thought makes listening more imaginative. A unique recording."

"This album has been out for years now, and I'm surprised it only had one review so far.
A musician can't go wrong by studying Bach's "six violin solos," as they are commonly known. Bungarten is a very intelligent interpreter of these pieces. His guitar technique is superb, his choice of dynamics interesting, all in all, an excellent recording. Oh, and he also plays all of these solos in the keys that Bach wrote them, which is refreshing, considering how many other guitarists transpose some of these (especially the first Sonata). I've had this recording for years, and I still enjoy it and still discover new aspects of it, after years of listening. Please forgive this salesmanship cliche, but I really mean it, if you're looking for an excellent interpretation of these wonderful solos, don't miss out on this one.
The 1st CD has the three Sonatas, the 2nd has the three Partitas. I prefer to listen to them in the order in which they were written (Sonata #1, Partita #1, Sonata #2, Partita #2 etc), but there is nothing wrong with playing them in this order, and besides, playlists are always up to you anyway."
