CD Reviews

Good songs, but theres something not quite right...

"Ok, this is the 'new' album by a fantastic pagan group. We all remember the seminal 'wytches' and 'vampyre erotica', but they really did begin to lose it with 'wild' and subsequent works. Repetative riffs and similar sounding songs - there were 2 or possibly 3 noteworthy tracks on 'supernature' in my opinion.
So I wasn't exactly quivering with antisipation for 'Beast with 2 backs'. I was pleasently surprised tho. The songs are so much better, more similar to the inkies of old, really rocking and full of pagan energy from start to finish. So why only 4 stars? Put simply, it's the production! the vocals sound a bit too 'live' and there are some discordance and tinny sounds in the guitars. I was exasperated! If only the production was better this would rank up with 'wytches' and 'VE'.Buy this by all means, its certainly in their top five albums, but you may find that the production offsets the superb song writing"
Absolute must for IS fans!

"By the gods I love this band! The latest offerering from IS is a definite must have for their fans. The production is great and the songs are true Inkubus Sukkubus. Recommended for goth/pagan/rock fans. The drum machine does not dominate as it did (in my opinion) on Supernature. Very dark and romantic in its way. Check out the cover art!"
