(4 out of 5 stars)

"is an understatement; I first heard them on SS:Hark! The Village Wait (The RCA UK version IMO still sounds like the Master tapes were used then lost; It sounds sharp, clear and brilliant-All the others are either the LP masters or the dubs remastered-even the recently released HARK! still doesnt sound quite right though word must have gotten around because they took the trouble to show the original RCA UK center LP labels for what ever reason in the booklet) But back to G&TW. I got their first solo album (that I know of)BACKWOODS when it first came out on Polydor. (1975)

It has some great tunes such as Dunlavin Green and The Hymn; The later albums after "Backwoods" failed to catch my interest but have high regard; UMG now owns the tapes and theyve had a good track record for releasing 70's music, remastered as special editions; I hope they release the individual albums-something Terry Woods has tried unsuccessfully for years. A small label HUX must have had connections, because the limited release of the masters came out as a surprise to them, since UMD had turned him down so many times (it is not a bootleg)

They were able to choose the tracks and wrote the booklet."
