It bothers me and many other people of color to see reviews from people who are obviously mean, evil, prejudice, and down-right ugly in speech and nature - willing to berate and criticize people who don't assimulate to the majority culture but instead continue to be a natural down-to-earth talent as you and your family are. No one can refute a 1.3 million vote span between you, Fantasia, and the runner up. But it seems America wants to still give praise and recognition to the runner up who happens to be of the majority culture. Talent comes in many forms, including colors and cultures; however, bigotry does too. Keep up the wonderful work. I look forward to hearing and purchasing much more of your music in the future." All the members of the Barrino family are strong singers. If I had bought the CD never having heard of this family I would not be disappointed. The AMAZING thing is how well Fantasia sings on the cuts she sings lead. This CD was released 4 years ago - which means that Fantasia was no more than 15 at the time. Her vocal skill, presence and authority are truly remarkable for a young woman of that age. It's no surprising how outstanding Fantasia has become. I greatly look forward to her solo album." Jordan | North Carolina | 06/24/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "...I highly recommend this CD by The Barrino Family gospel group, consisting of Diane Barrino, Jo Barrino, Fantasia Barrino and Cynthia Price. Diane and Jo, Fantasia's parents, give solid, restrained performances, and overall the CD is beautiful, soulful, heartfelt and oddly soothing and relaxing, an excellent local musical offering, and a nice introduction for listeners new to gospel music. But the real "miracle" is 15 y/o Fantasia, who is featured on three of the tracks, and whose lead vocals bring these arrangements to a new level, especially on "Meet Me Half Way" and "What Shall I Give.""
