"Ze Ramalho covers the complete experience of living in the Northeast of Brasil, from the simplicity of the rural Sertao to visions of the future in the urban jungles. On this double album he has chosen representative songs and added a few of his own to pay tribute to his countrymen.

This is his masterwork, little known and heard even in Brazil.

While his vocals are often more spoken than sung, his arrangements are spectacular and incorporate rock instruments and even sitars with the native northeastern rhythms and musical themes.
