CD Reviews

Utterly delicious japanese clubpop

"very very happy. the last 4 songs in particular qualify this cd for admittance to the pantheon of electronic joy. this cd is a lot like the cool, lounge-y parts of a pizzicato 5 cd."
So cool, so sensuous, a must for all dreamers

"For Yoshinori fans, this CD IS for YOU! If you have discovered Mr. Sunahara on the POPTICS webpage, and had the chance to listen to his looped 3 second clip from track 3-"Whirlpool" -this CD is not the end of it! The music in here is like a crystal-cool, and dazzling microcosm trapped under glass. I also own "Take off and Landing" and the qualities I have observed and loved about this genius of an artist is his ability to create a powerful atmosphere with his music. From the Carribbean-sounding "Whirlpool", and the orchestrated techno of "Elegant World" to the haunting fanfare of "Clouds across the Moon", you will be able to tap into Yoshinori's second and most powerful quality-the ability to give his music a life of it's own. Yet to mention it all has a great beat, that as eclectic as the CD is in genre, it can be an addition to the collection of lovers' of techno, lounge, house, and garage. The talents of this artist are worth experiencing! this CD was thoroughly enjoyable."
Sophisticated, multi-layered, simply gorgeous

"Yoshinori Sunahara has become a recent find for me, and I have been simply blown away by this album. I'll give 5 stars for this album as well as 'Take Off and Landing' because both are wonderfully inventive, beautifully textured...the stuff that dreams are made of. Can't put it any other way. Mr. Sunahara has been a fantastic addition to my collection."
